Johnson Creek

NEW Johnson Creek Regional Information.

Location:
A largely metropolitan stream, Johnson Creek originates in the foothills of the Cascades east of the city of Gresham. It flows between the Sandy and Clackamas basins before joining the Willamette River at the city of Milwaukie.

Watershed description: The Johnson Creek Watershed has a dense population that includes different counties, cities and communities. More than 50 schools are located within the boundaries of the highly impacted watershed, which is home to anadromonous species of salmon.

Main threats: Non-point source pollution and habitat loss due to development.

Partners: The Johnson Creek Watershed Council has a strong relationship with the East Multnomah Soil and Water Conservation District. The council is an active part of the community serving as a non-partisan liaison between the numerous interested in the basin.
